Wondering Boys

2009

Posted in x by Mick on December 30, 2008

wandering_map1

One more day before we say goodbye to a magnificent full year.
We got married and we left everything behind to go and live in Spain but we wanted more…

So we took our MacBooks and went traveling in Mexico.
Only to realize there that we missed Europe.

Thankful, that is what we are.
Thankful for the opportunity we got – or took – to explore life at the fullest.

And we can tell you that we are not quiet finished yet.
This year is all about new fields, finding a real home and exploring the art field.

We hope you have the same sparkle and power we have to get started in 2009.
Let’s make it an even better year!

Chocolate Grace

grace-jones

Grace Jones one of the best living artworks on our planet came up with yet another brilliant idea for her new c.d. Hurricane. Collaborating with Tom Hingston Studio, Ms. Jones once again works the conceit of the popstar as visual commodity, in this case featuring life-size versions of herself made out of chocolate. She is just amazing.

Ariana Page

Posted in x by Mick on December 19, 2008

ariana-page

This is just wonderfully strange. Ariana Page is a artist, due to the fact that she suffers from a condition known as dermatographia (the immune system exhibits hypersensitivity, via skin, causing capillaries to dilate and welts to appear (lasting around thirty minutes) when the skin’s surface is lightly scratched). She draws various patterns on her body, there you have it, art just staring at ya, in your face.

I’m flabbergasted by the curious menageries painted by Laurie Hogin. I am not a fan of bright neon colors in paintings and illustrations, this one really enchanted me.

Your Mother, one of the writers of Appelogen, a Belgian blog with interesting posts, pointed at a strange jewel on Etsy. I did not hesitate one second, I ordered this little piece of art at a blink of an eye. Just 25 dollars, pfff.

Designed by SquirrelFeetEarrings

Another piece to be shown in the Wondering Museum Collection to be openend in 2015.

She is still on my wish list, one of these days… one of these days.

I do love everything that has to do with pixels or pixelated, it not that hard to create something nice with pixels. But what about this, a portrait totally out of pins, this is one step further. I wonder how they managed this.

Corpus 2.0 by Marcia Nolte is a series of portraits presenting the next human. We think its normal that animals and plant evolve due to their behavior, but what about the human body. Sou see an sms thumb, a sunglasses nose, a shoulder for a purse, a Ipod ear, smoking lips, and a foot that already a high heal.
Just marvelous.

I am not a huge fan of big corporate brands, but this time Nike blew me away. Nancy Wu created the Nike Remixed & Recut. Its mind boggling and amazing, she remixed & recut reinterprets sportswear for a generation of open-minded and unorthodox consumers. This is what I call a revolution.

Missing

Posted in Uncategorized by Mick on December 12, 2008

missing

A while ago we designed a lamp, based on the missing form. This idea of a vase leans to it, the philosophy of this vase however is very strong.
“…now considered unnecessary and out of fashion. Its fate was to end among the waste, and to witness its passage in a house, remaining only with dust and water after being left after so many years unused”
That is the stuff I like a good design with good semiotics.

The computer mouse… 40 years later

Posted in Uncategorized by W ! on December 10, 2008

album_picphp

In 1968 they called it a pointing device, today it is widely known as a mouse. Forty years of evolution and yet it’s still a box with a button.

But if we have to believe the rumours change is ahead. Soon we’ll all be gesturing to our computers, not unlike Tom Cruise in Minority Report, without the fancy gloves though.

Big big legend Bettie Page, an American pin-up from the fifties, is taken in to intensive care, after she suffered a heart attack. “She is in bad shape again,” says her spokesman.
According to a friend Page is in a coma. Her spokesman denied that, but would also not insist. The former model is seen as one of the pioneers of the sexual revolution of the sixties. She posed for many a magazine covers since 1955 and posed naked in one of the first editions of Playboy.

Madonna for Vuitton

Posted in Uncategorized by Mick on December 6, 2008

madonna-vuitton

Madonna in amazing provocative pose, embody the latest collection designed by US stylist Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton. Dressed in little but mesh stockings and head-spinningly high stilettos in the first pictures released, the diva of pop represents the designer’s ‘vision of the quintessential Parisienne’ embodied in his 2009 spring-summer ready-to-wear collection for Louis Vuitton unveiled in October.
‘I wanted the campaign to be very bold, very sensual and very atmospheric,’ Jacobs was quoted as saying in a statement. ‘To carry this off,’ he added, ‘we needed the ultimate performer – and for me, that is Madonna.’ Photographed in a smoky Paris 1940s-style bar touting the latest Vuitton ‘it’ bags. The advertising campaign is to launch next February worldwide. We think it is amazing, especially the range of colors for a spring collection. A+
