It’s been a while, we’ve been busy arranging stuff to move to the U.K.
We wanted to move this spring, unfortunately it is gonna be late summer.
Al because our beloved dogs needs to be in quarantine for six months,
so basically, we too. Would love a foldeble dog at the moment,
like the one Gwo Osang printed and reconstructed.

I believe photography is the best medium to capture time. The Dutch photographer Hanneke van Leeuwen knows how to capture time and even capture the past. I think her breathtaking young talent is gonna travel far.

I am not a fan of dolls and doll making, until I discovered Marina Bychkova.
She is an amazing doll sculptor who makes dolls out of porcelain. And not just dolls, she creates stories, every doll tells a little story.

It was about  4  years ago. Wout and I where on a holiday in the south of France. One day we visited a castle, because that is what you do when you are in the south of France: taste wine and visit castles. Anyway, that was the first time we came in contact with the marvellous Felice Varini. The master of modern Trompe L’oeil.
It is mindboggling what this man does with spaces.

Ariana Page

ariana-page

This is just wonderfully strange. Ariana Page is a artist, due to the fact that she suffers from a condition known as dermatographia (the immune system exhibits hypersensitivity, via skin, causing capillaries to dilate and welts to appear (lasting around thirty minutes) when the skin’s surface is lightly scratched). She draws various patterns on her body, there you have it, art just staring at ya, in your face.

pins

I do love everything that has to do with pixels or pixelated, it not that hard to create something nice with pixels. But what about this, a portrait totally out of pins, this is one step further. I wonder how they managed this.

corps20-sms-thumb

Corpus 2.0 by Marcia Nolte is a series of portraits presenting the next human. We think its normal that animals and plant evolve due to their behavior, but what about the human body. Sou see an sms thumb, a sunglasses nose, a shoulder for a purse, a Ipod ear, smoking lips, and a foot that already a high heal.
Just marvelous.

Lady’s Weapons

Posted in Uncategorized by Mick on December 28, 2007
